The 2023 HBL PSL 8 Draft was just completed and each team has picked their players for the 8th season. Players were up for auction in the Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Emerging, and Supplementary categories. The captains of all six teams were there as well as the management and owners of each team.
Javed Afridi was absent from the event as a silent protest against the statement Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Ramiz Raja made regarding Peshawar not being ready to hold any cricket at the moment. This was disheartening for the Peshawar Zalmi owner as he played a very vital role in bringing cricket back to Pakistan.
