Coke Studio Pakistan: All Time Big Hits

Coke Studio has had Pakistanis drooling over it for quite long now. The pioneer of diverse, instrumental and visually appealing music, this project has never failed to impress the nation.

Uniting music enthusiasts from all over the region and knotting a number of legendary and talented singers at a single platform, the diversity of music and songs produced in Coke Studio is unreal.

With the 10th season of underway, we look back at the biggest all-time hits of Coke Studio.

Tajdar-e-Haram

A beautiful and melodious Qawali, originally produced by the legendary Sabri brothers, was attempted by Atif Aslam in Coke Studio season 8. Atif’s effort in the Qawali is quite evident as the outcome was absolutely wonderful.

A 10 minute cover of the Qawali has attempted by Atif Aslam and he proved his mettle yet again as he was able to sing it perfectly, while maintaining the original essence.

Saari Raat

Saari Raat by Noori, from Coke Studio season 2 is definitely amongst the biggest hits Coke Studio has ever produced. Saari Raat was a brilliant fusion of amazing vocals and fine instrumental.

 

Aik Alif

Aik Alif is yet another brilliant example of folk music with a modern essence. Sung by the legendary Folk singer and BBC music award 2006 winner Saaein Zahoor and Ali Hamza back in Coke studio season 2, this music surely is mesmerizing. The song is beautifully put together and the singers compliment each other pretty well. Classic vocals by Saaein Zahoor and Ali Noor and devotional instrumental by Ali Hamza made this song one of Coke Studio Pakistan’s biggest hits.

 

Afreen

Afreen Afreen was presented in Coke Studio season 9, as a tribute to the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. This song Qawali makes to the list as it is surely one of its kind. With the brilliant Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and the latest music sensation Momina Mustehsan creating mesmerizing and soothing vocals and instruments complimenting it, Afreen Afreen surely is one of Coke Studio’s biggest hits.

 

Charkha Nolakha

Another classic from Coke Studio season 5 and a tribute to the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Charkha Nolakha was a beautifully set up and amazingly executed, this song is perfection. Led by Atif Aslam and Qayaas, Charkha Nolakha is quite soothing and goes directly to the soul.

 

Man Amedah Am

Man Amedah am from season 8 surely deserves to be here as it is brilliantly sung by Atif Aslam and Gul Parna. The duo has complimented each other really well and the song came out really mesmerizing.

 

Dost

Dost, by Abida Parveen from season 7 is another song that exhibits perfection. There’s so much going on in this song and everything links up so well, taking the song to new heights.

 

Tum Naraz Ho

Tum Naraz ho is a melodious and soulful song from Coke Studio season 7. Sajjad Ali has done an amazing job here and the song came out really impressive.
