Facebook has been upping its ante through different ways. In 2011, Facebook introduced an independent instant messaging app dubbed as ‘Messenger’. Since then, Facebook has added numerous number of features to make it competetive with its arch-rival ‘Whatsapp’. However, in 2014, Facebook decided to kill the competition completely and bought off Whatsapp for $19 billion.
However, it doesn’t mean Facebook has given up on its Messenger app. They are continously striving to improve their Messenger app and today, Facebook has achieved another milestone by adding another interesting feature in its Messenger App.
Instant Games
‘Instant Games’ is the latest feature that has been added to ‘Messenger’ by Facebook. The feature, as the name suggest, let’s you play games right in the Messenger app and also on your News Feed. This new games experience allows people to easily discover, share, and play games both on mobile and web without having to install new apps.
To play these games, open a conversation with your friend and top on the game controller icon below Messenger’s text box or through the website’s new Instant Games tab.
As of now, 17 titles have been added and are now available to play in 30 countries. Games are available on both major platforms; Android (v5.0) or later and iOS (v8) or later. More games are promised to be added in the future, and of course, Facebook will cover more locations too.
