Meesha Shafi has released the first teaser image of her upcoming movie Mustache. The singer and actress took to her Instagram to share a still from the movie which is set to make its debut at the SXSW this year.
The 2023 South by Southwest festival is ready to commence on 10th March in which tech, education, film, music, and culture will be celebrated from all over the world. The event is set to be held in Austin, Texas.
The movie has been selected in the “Narrative Feature Competition” section of the event. Meesha Shafi is very excited about the project, which is why she shares news after news about the project.
She shared the teaser still from the movie on her official Instagram page in which she can be seen wearing a hijab. She captioned the picture with: “So excited to announce that this beautiful film I did with so many beautiful and hardworking people has been selected in the ‘Narrative Feature Competition’ section at the prestigious SXSW this year!”

In his post, he said: “It’s the mid-90s and 13-year-old Pakistani-American Ilyas is forced out of his cushy Islamic private school and thrown into public school with non-Muslim kids, all while suffering daily through life with his inescapable pre-pubescent Mustache.
The movie Mustache is already an award-winning short film. Directed by Imran J Khan, the movie feature Shafi as Ilyas’s mother whereas Rizwan Manji is playing the role of the father.
This is not the first movie featuring Meesha Shafi. She has also appeared in movies such as movie adaptations of The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and To Strike. However, Mustache will be her first work with the most accolades.
