MG Motors is ready to give other major car brands in Pakistan a run for their money. Just days after announcing that they will release three new SUVs in Pakistan, they have received thousands of orders for their SUVs that are bound to add more diversity to the automotive industry in Pakistan.
While there are plenty of sedans and small cars in Pakistan, there is a definite need of SUVs in the market. MG Motors is bringing that divert tenfold. The addition of this brand in Pakistani automotive industry is thanks to the efforts of Javed Afridi, the CEO of Haier Pakistan and JW Auto Park.
Grand New Total of Orders After Initial Launch Announcement
MG Motors is working in collaboration with JW Auto Park, which is a key share holder in the deal made by SAIC Motors that owns MG Motors. According to the reports, MG Motors already has booked 10,000 orders for the MG HS SUV.
The MG HS is a compact SUV that comes with a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine that is actually equivalent to 2400cc. Javed Afridi is very happy with the turn out and says, “The demand is great for the British car.” He also says, “They also want to expand their global presence to Pakistan. They are providing a sporty SUV with high-end technology that will transform the Pakistani auto market.”
When Will The MG HS Become Available?
However, the stock for the MG HS is limited and the SUV will actually be formally launched December. The brand is gearing up to start the production of the SUV in Pakistan in June 2021. During the first phase, MG Motors is going to launch three SUVs that are MG ZS with 1.5 liter engine, MG HS and MG ZS EV (an all-electric SUV that generates 44.5 KWH power).
It is expected that the company is ready to announce three more models by early 2021. The new lineup will include hatchbacks and sedans. At the moment, the MG HS is competing against Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, both of which have a huge demand with Pakistani SUV enthusiasts.
