Javed Afridi the key shareholder in MG Motors in Pakistan and owner of Peshawar Zalmi, has once more hinted that the MG 3 may soon be released in Pakistan. He released MG 3’s video on Facebook and stated that the launch of the car was nearing its completion stages.
Stances of Afridi Regarding MG 3
Javed Afridi, the public face of MG Pakistan, has made yet another claim. Afridi re-posted the MG 3 video on Facebook and teased that the vehicle would soon be available by saying, “Yes, MG 3’s price will be less than two million in Pakistan.”
This is Afridi’s 4th discussion about cost of this car. In February 2021, he initially hinted the arrival of this car for less than Rs. 2 million, which created a lot of hype. But after a long period of silence, he finally provided another update and asked public for estimates of the MG 3’s price.
No update or probable launch date has ever been explicitly provided by MG Pakistan. Even then, we let you know that MG wouldn’t be carrying this car in its lineup. Javed Afridi looks to be bringing the car to the neighborhood car market.
Lack of License for Selling CKD
Although Afridi has tweeted footage of MG cars being manufactured, none of them have been delivered to dealers. The company’s record is therefore not in its favor. Additionally, analysts in the industry claim that MG still does not have a license to sell CKD cars because it has not satisfied the government’s requirements for Greenfield status.
