PTA conducted Mobile Spectrum Auction for AJK,GB

If you are a resident of Gilgit Baltistan or Azad Jammu and Kashmir, here is great news for you. The PTA has conducted a mobile service on 28th September 2021, and it was surely one of the most needed things to do.

According to the news, 4 different mobile networks, including JAZZ (PMCL), Zong (CMPAK), Ufone (PTML). Moreover, the Telenor network sent their bids to the Pakistan Telecommunication authority that were later approved and clarified.

We all were aware of the network connections in these cities, so it is surely a great thing for the residents of these places.

It is said to be the first secular auction that took place on 28th September 2021in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu, and Kashmir. The birds were sent to the PTA by all the networks mentioned above for 2100MHz and 1800MHz spectrum bands.

With this auction, AJK and GB will be able to experience improved quality connection services. They no longer find it difficult to connect on mobile phones. Furthermore, the auction was conducted with the help of a joint venture of Frontier Economics and Telconet that is internationally recognized.

They have been operating since April 2021. Though there are no details of revenue invested in this auction yet, we would be able to know the total price once the process is concluded.

More Details

The auction was held in the headquarters of PTA that is located in Islamabad. According to PTA, 2 operators participated in the auction, including Jazz and Zong for the 1800 MHz band. The auction completed 18 rounds, and finally, Zong was declared the auction winner in the 1800 MHz band.

On the other hand, the Telenor network remained the auction winner in the 2100 MHz band. After the auction, the total revenue was also calculated, which is said to be 30 Million USD.
