All the retired government employees from Pakistan Post will get a debit card to receive their pensions every month from the next month. On December 25, a card will be given to pensioners which will help them to withdraw their pension’s money from any Automated Teller Machine (ATM).
Pakistan Post officially said, “debit card service will help to grow the revenue for the post apart from helping to recognize and capture the ‘Ghost Pensioners’ of the department.”
This is a great benefit as it would mark all the objections from the old pensioners, who were tired with the present system. From this service, pensioners would not only withdraw their cash from any place they want but also it would be immediate. The pensioners will correct their pensions from their account in a very short time period.
“It was a long-standing issue as old age pensioners had to stand in long lines in order to collect their pensions from the post offices”
Pakistan Post official gave all the credits to Mr. Murad Saeed, the Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services. Minister himself took an interest in providing facilities to the retired employees and end the ghost pensioners. He think that the department should give benefit to old employees who spend their lives in the service of the department.
The two pensioners of Pakistan Post, Muhammad Hakeem and Abdul Hameed said that this new service would save their energy from going to the post office to get their pensions every month. In addition, this new system makes them stand in long lines yet the debit card would help them to keep away from it.
The debit card service program for the pensioners was presented by Murad Saeed in October, 2019 on the occasion of 145th World Post Day
