YouTube was blocked in Pakistan following a decision taken by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on 22 February, 2008 because of the number of non-Islamic content. After ban people started using YouTube through proxy websites. The YouTube Android app was properly working on various internet service providers in Pakistan. But it can’t be accessible on majority of internet service provider in Pakistan on both through website or via Android app unless user use any proxy to access it.
But, from now YouTube website is also accessible from various internet service providers like PTCL Broadband, EVO, Zong and Mobilink 3G and Ufone 3G. Previously YouTube Android app was working properly on PTCL Broadband, EVO, Zong and Mobilink 3G, Ufone 3G and others, but now both are working. Now the question is does Pakistan silently lift ban from YouTube or it is temporary relief. We have checked YouTube website and Android app are working on internet service provider like PTCL DSL, EVO, Zong, Ufone, Mobilink and the rest of all to be confirmed.
