World Ranking for top universities is out and…. Guess what? There is good news for Pakistan and its education system. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in its World University Rankings 2018 has announced The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) amongst the top 500 universities in the world. Top Pakistani Universities Worldwide
According to the recently released rankings, NUST has managed to jump 91 places higher than last year and is now ranked at 437 in the world.
Moreover, some of the universities like the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), University of Karachi (KU) and the University of Lahore (UOL) all made it to the top 1,000 varsities in the world.
NUST, because of great performance in teaching and research it also features amongst the world’s elite institutions in four of the 46 subject areas included in the 13th edition of its rankings.
It stood at
- 270 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- 273 in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology.
- 367 in the field of Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering.
- 472 in Physics and Astronomy.
Moreover, among Asian universities, it is ranked at 112.
Meanwhile, some other Pakistani universities have also broken into top 1000 universities i.e.
- QAU came in at 672.
- LUMS came in at 716.
- UET at 934.
- KU at 937.
- UoL at 938.
Moreover, the improvement in rankings of Islamabad-based varsity is also reported which is from 74 to 61 in the “Top 50 under 50” category.
Apparently, this category allows some of the world’s top young universities to emerge. Furthermore, rewarding those universities who did their best to show great performance in teaching and research. Moreover, to admire the excellence of the universities who have established themselves in the world rankings in a short space of time.
