YouTube – that has been a part of huge controversy back in late 2012 due to the derogatory content that was available on it. The hate-mongering videos were later filtered and made unaccessible by the PTA and the related authorities of Pakistan as part of its campaign to block the sites containing content it considers to be blasphemous, anti-Islamic, or threatening to internal security.
In late 2016, YouTube has made a solid comeback and people have been enjoying it since forever. On Thursday, YouTube has released a list of most watched videos in Pakistan in 2016, and without any surprise Taher Shah has managed to make it to the list!

Speaking of major label music videos, Momina Mustehsan’s both Coke Studio songs, Afreen and Tera Woh Pyar, received great publicity, receiving over 35 million and 15 million views respectively. Another hit “Aye Rah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedon” by several artist also managed to grab 5 million views.
Other Coke Studio titles such as “Aaqa” by Abida Parveen and Ali Sethi and “Rang” by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Amjad Sabri were also extensively watched by masses, both of which received over 4 million views.
Music list is incomplete without mentionig Bollywood songs, at least in Pakistan. Popular dance numbers “Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai” and “Kaala Chashma” came in at number 3 and number 2 of the most watched music videos (supplementary list) in Pakistan on YouTube.
