Teased with the tagline “Movement That Inspires,” the brand has teased the upcoming 5th generation Kia Sportage. Promising to come with a brand-new design, the SUV will be all-new and it is expected that the new design will be available in Pakistan as well as the rest of the world.

The brand shared three images of the new Kia Sportage to give a glimpse at the SUV that will be spared with the world soon. The 5th generation of the SUV looks to be sleeker, even though the vehicle is seem in shadows with barely there light.
Here is what we know about the new Kia Sportage and what you can expect from it.
The Design Changes of New Kia Sportage
The exterior of the Kia Sportage is expected to have the maximum changes. For example, the exterior appears to be more dynamic and sportier than before. The SUV will have a new C-pillar while the side mirrors have changed their position as well.
Although we cannot properly see in the teaser, it appears that the front grille of the vehicle appears to have changed as well. The signature Tiger nose grille appears to be bolder and wider while the headlights, taillights and Daytime Running Lights are expected to be improved as well.
Out of the three images teased, one of them gives a glimpse at the new interior of the Kia Sportage. It looks like the interior will feature new and improved digital cluster. The instrument panel will feature fully digitalized new look. The vents are new as well as the Kia logo has been revamped.
Mr. Karim Habib, the Senior Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Center said, “With new Sportage, we didn’t simply want to take one step forward, but rather move to a completely different level within the SUV class. Taking inspiration from an ethos we created where nature meets modernity, the new Sportage challenges design norms with an adventurous yet contemporary exterior and a beautifully detailed and pioneering interior.”
Expected Performance Specifications
Although Kia has not mentioned any changes to the performance specifications, it is expected that the Kia Sportage will come with performance specifications similar to the Hyundai Tucson. This means the following engines will be available with the new Sportage:
- 2-liter Inline 4-Cylinder Engine that can generate 154 horsepower
- 5-liter Inline 4-Cylinder Engine that can generate 187 horsepower
- 6-liter Turbocharged Engine that can generate 177 horsepower.
The vehicle is expected to be available in all-wheel drive as well as front-wheel drive.
Release Date and More
The new Kia Sportage will have a design unveiling on 8th June and sales of the vehicle are expected to begin in the later half of 2021 in Korea and USA. The new model will reach other countries, including Pakistan, in 2022. Only then we can make an assumption for its price and such.
