Pakistan Supreme Court Suspended Mobile Cards Taxes and Service Charges
Many Telecommunication Companies of Pakistan provides services to its customers. As Jazz, Ufone, Warid, Telenor and Zong offers the best services for its precious customers. The service charges and taxes are heavily applied by all these telecommunication companies in Pakistan. These taxes are very high and deduct a large amount of balance. Now Supreme Court of Pakistan suspended Mobile Cards Taxes and Service Charges.
Mobile Cards Taxes & Service Charges Suspended by SC
All the taxes that are imposed by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and by all Mobile Companies are suspended on all Mobile Cards Taxes and charges. All the Taxes and Service Charges on Mobile Cards are suspended. The Excise Duty has also been suspended by Supreme Court.
In Supreme Court the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar took notice on the extra charges by mobile companies on all cards. In the case hearing headed by three-member bench in Lahore registry of Supreme Court, Mian Saqib Nisar ordered all mobile phone companies to suspend all taxes and service charges on mobile cards. It is said by the court that if a person does not fall in Tax Net then how we can receive tax by him/her.
All type of service charges including tax and General Sales Tax (GST) on all mobile cards are suspended today by Mian Saqib Nisar in Supreme Court. If we charge Rs.100/- on prepaid mobile card then we receive only 64 rupees and 38 paisa load that is illegal. During hearing in Supreme Court it also been stated that there should be an appropriate policy against tax and service charges on all mobile cards.
The Supreme Court give the time of only 2 days to FBR and mobile companies against heavy tax and service charges on all mobile cards. It is said illegally to receive high tax charges by the people. The Chief Justice also ordered to show the Call Rate Charges Chart of other countries.
The General attorney also told to the court that on Rs.100/- mobile card the mobile companies receive 19.5% sales tax, 10% service charges and 12.5% withholding tax by the public.
All the mobile taxes and service charges in Pakistan are going to be suspended from 13th June 2018. All these charges will remain suspended for at least 15 days. The orders by Supreme Court of Pakistan will be implemented from 13th June Wednesday midnight.
