WhatsApp Text Editor Feature released to Android Beta Testers

WhatsApp is ready to roll out a new feature: the WhatsApp Text Editor. It has been widely reported that WhatsApp has been developing a text editing feature for some time now. Previous reports indicated that the feature was tested on both Android and iOS platforms.

However, a recent report suggests that the feature is currently being released to selected beta testers but exclusively for Android users of WhatsApp. Although the iOS version has already undergone testing, it is anticipated to be released soon.

Furthermore, the platform is rumored to be developing an edit message feature as well. According to a post by WhatsApp update tracker WABetaInfo, the messaging app’s latest update will introduce creative tools that enable users to modify images, videos, and GIFs with a range of new fonts and tools.

The text editor has already been made available to a limited group of beta testers in conjunction with the Android 2.23.7.17 update. As per reports, WhatsApp has introduced the new WhatsApp Text Editor feature that allows users to swiftly alternate between fonts by tapping on one of the font options shown above the keyboard.

While it was already feasible to modify the font style, WhatsApp now apparently makes it easier for users to choose their preferred font. The report also mentions that users can now set the text alignment to left, center, or right, which gives them greater authority over the formatting of text in images, videos, and GIFs.

The new feature will apparently enable users to modify the background color of text, making it simpler to differentiate important text from the rest. According to the report, beta testers have access to new fonts such as Calistoga, Courier Prime, Damion, Exo 2, and Morning Breeze.

According to the WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp intends to progressively introduce the WhatsApp Text Editor to more users in the coming weeks. The report further states that a similar feature has been spotted during testing on iOS devices, indicating that an iOS version of the text editing feature will soon be made available to beta testers.

As per a recent report, WhatsApp is said to be experimenting with an edit message feature that will include a specific notification visible to all chat participants. If implemented, edited messages are expected to display a label with the word “edited,” similar to how deleted messages are currently identified in chats.

PCB Clarifies Rumors Regarding Asia Cup 2023

There have been a lot of rumors regarding the Asia Cup 2023 and, subsequently, the 2023 World Cup. Today, the Pakistan Cricket Board provided a clarification regarding the stance of its Chairman Management Committee, Najam Sethi, who suggested that the Asia Cup be held at a “neutral” venue instead of in Pakistan, the host country.

On Thursday, during a media briefing in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Mr. Najam Sethi discussed the hybrid model he proposed to the ACC officials for resolving the impasse created by the BCCI’s refusal to send its team to Pakistan for the ACC Asia Cup 2023.

He said that the proposal for India to play its matches at a neutral while the rest of the matches to continue in Pakistan is currently under discussion with ACC.

The spokesperson for Pakistan Cricket Board said, “At no stage during Thursday’s media interaction, did I give any reference to the ICC or made any remarks on the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which is scheduled in October. This matter has not been mooted or discussed at any ICC forum so far.”

“In this background, the PCB is disappointed that a leading English language newspaper has misquoted, misinterpreted, and misrepresented Mr Sethi’s comments and gave the impression that PCB’s hybrid model was presented and discussed at the ICC, which is factually incorrect. At this stage, the PCB is only in discussions with the ACC over the hosting of the ACC Asia Cup and no discussions regarding the World Cup have taken place with the ICC.”

“This is not to say that the hybrid model will not be advocated at the proper ICC forum at the right time.”

Furthermore, the spokesperson emphasized that the Pakistan Cricket Board remains committed to hosting the Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan, as it is the designated host country. The PCB has also taken several steps in recent years to improve the security situation in the country and attract international cricket teams to play in Pakistan.

These efforts have been successful, with several teams, including Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, New Zealand, England, Australia, and the West Indies, visiting Pakistan in recent years to play cricket. The board remains optimistic that the Asia Cup 2023 will take place in Pakistan, as planned.
