Sadia Imam is a well-known Pakistani television actress and host who has been part of the entertainment industry for many years. She has appeared in several popular dramas, including Singhar, Pehli Barish, Rani Beti, Sirf Aik Bar, Ijazat, Bilquees Kaur, Musafat, Uljhan, Hum Se Juda Na Hona, Mera Naseeb, and Colony 52. She has also hosted television shows on Samaa TV.

Sadia married Adnan, a chef by profession, in 2012 and later moved to Germany with him. The couple has a daughter, Meerub.
Recently, Sadia Imam appeared as a guest on ARY Digital’s morning show Good Morning Pakistan, hosted by Nida Yasir. During the conversation, the actress spoke openly about her early years in the industry and revealed that some of her male colleagues and friends had betrayed her professionally.
Sadia Imam Talks About Her Early Career
Reflecting on the time when she entered the entertainment industry, Sadia explained that there were relatively few female actresses working at her level. According to her, most of the actresses around her were either much more senior or junior.
She mentioned Maria Wasti as one of the few actresses who was working around the same time, but said that Maria was also senior to her and based in Lahore. As a result, Sadia found herself surrounded largely by male colleagues and friends.
She said that some of these colleagues, whom she considered close friends, eventually turned against her.
“I Was Stabbed in the Back”
Sadia shared that she experienced betrayal from people she trusted and that some incidents had a direct impact on her professional opportunities.
She recalled her father’s advice about avoiding fake friendships, saying that she did not fully understand his words at the time because she felt she needed people around her. With experience, however, she said she gradually understood the value of his advice.
The actress revealed that she sometimes overheard conversations between male colleagues who discussed her behind her back.
According to Sadia, some colleagues allegedly did not want her to be cast because she was not interested in the social activities associated with overseas drama shoots.
She explained that dramas were sometimes filmed abroad and claimed that certain colleagues preferred having actresses around them who were more socially involved during such trips. Sadia believes this resulted in her being excluded from some projects or being offered secondary roles.
Sadia Says Even Close Friends Were Involved
What appeared to hurt Sadia the most was that some of the people involved were not distant acquaintances. She described them as colleagues who had been very close to her.
She said these were people who had eaten with her, spent time with her, visited her home, and whom she considered friends. Despite that closeness, she eventually discovered that some of them were discussing her negatively and allegedly influencing professional decisions against her.
Sadia said these experiences taught her important lessons about friendships, trust, and navigating the entertainment industry.
She also expressed gratitude that those difficult years eventually passed and that she was able to move forward.
The actress’s candid comments on Good Morning Pakistan offered a glimpse into some of the challenges she faced during the early stages of her career and highlighted how professional relationships can sometimes become complicated in the entertainment industry.
