Allama Iqbal Open University Opens Numerous Scholarships for Students

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has offered numerous scholarships for students from all over Pakistan. Now more students will be able to take advantage of the financial benefits for the needy students who fall under the merit set by Open University.

As one of the biggest and most respected educational institutes in Pakistan, the university is hoping to provide more opportunities to Pakistani students who are from marginalized communities or have a financial disadvantage. Their focus would be on the students from the rural parts of the country.

AIOU Goal with Scholarships Announced

The Allama Iqbal Open University is offering a wide variety of fee concessions and scholarships under the financial support programs that they have perfected and curated over the years. The Open University already offers free primary education in Gilgil-Baltistan, ex-FATA districts, and Balochistan areas.

They have also reserved a quota of scholarships for the transgender community which is already grossly underrepresented in Pakistan. Along with that, the University has also reserved a quota for children of martyrs and prisoners along with women who have dropped out of school but want to continue their education now.

Allama Iqbal Open University Scholarship Requirements

Anyone who hopes to receive or apply for the scholarship or financial assistance program must contact the Allama Iqbal Open University regional office in their area. Currently, the university is offering financial aid and scholarships for the Spring 2023 semester.

Those students who wish to get financial assistance and scholarships for the FA programs or matriculation need to apply for the scholarship by the 21st of February. However, the deadline for hopefuls of BS, MPhil, and Ph.D. programs needs to apply before February 15th.

A scholarship will be provided to students whose annual household income is Rs. 400,000. Students who have failed or are repeating a course will not be eligible for the scholarship. The students should also have 75% or above marks in their previous semester or equivalent examination.
