A fairytale ending, Argentina wins the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. A thrilling end to the fantastic world cup, Argentina has finally grabbed the world cup victory after 36 years. A tie at every point, Lionel Messi’s team snatched the goal right under the French team’s feet.

The explosive match began with Argentina with a slight advantage. However, by the time 25 minutes ended, Messi had scored the first goal for his country. With a 2-0 advantage before half-time, Messi and his men were in clear advantage.

However, things changed when Kylian Mbappé scored twice and full-time ended with a 2-2 draw. An extra 30 minutes were given in which Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé scored once more each and ended the extra time with a 3-3 tie once again in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.

Going into the penalties, it was the battle of penalties and pressure was on Argentina’s Emiliano Martinez and France’s Captain Hugo Lloris. For France, Kylian Mbappé and Randal Kolo Muani scored their penalties while Kingsley Coman and Aurélien Tchouaméni failed to score theirs.

But this was Argentina’s day and each of their penalty takers took their chance and succeeded. Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, Leandro Paredes, and Gonzalo Montiel all succeeded in going. Argentina lifts their third World Cup and France failed to retain their title with 4-2 on penalties.

  • FIFA Young Player Awards went to Argentina’s Julian Alvarez. The 22-year-old scored 4 goals in the tournament.

  • The FIFA Golden Glove Award went to the fearless Argentinian goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who made two very successful penalty shoot campaigns. He played a very important role in Argentina’s win in this FIFA World Cup.

  • The FIFA Golden Boot Award went to France’s Golden Boy Kylian Mbappé. He scored a total of 8 goals, three of which came in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. Lionel Messi scored 7 goals.

  • Finally, the Player of the Match Award, The Gold Ball Winner Award, which is perhaps the biggest award apart from the Trophy itself went to who else, but Lionel Messi. He cemented his position as the ultimate G.O.A.T.
