How Much Money Will PSL 8 2023 Winners Will Get?

PSL 8 is ready to be underway and Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the prize money for the winners and the runner-ups. Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board revealed the new and improved Pakistan Super League trophy and now they have announced the prize money for the winners and runner-ups.

The first match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans is all set to be played today at 8 PM whereas the opening ceremony will be held at 6 PM today at Multan Cricket Stadium. Fans have already started to fill up the stadium and take their seats to watch the show tonight.

PSL 8 Prize Money Announced

The winners of the new season of HBL PSL will lift the new trophy that has been aptly named Supernova Trophy. The winners will lift that glittering trophy and will go home with Rs. 120 million prize money. The runners-up of the final and the tournament will receive Rs. 48 million.

Previously the winners of PSL 2022 were awarded Rs. 80 million and that prize money went to Lahore Qalandars. The runners-up, Multan Sultans, were given Rs. 32 million. This is a definite increase in the payout for both finalists.

Lahore Qalandars is hoping to continue its winning streak and win a back-to-back title. So far, all franchises have won at least one season. Only Islamabad United has won the title twice. Here are the winners according to the season.

  • Islamabad United won the title in 2016
  • Peshawar Zalmi won the title in 2017
  • Islamabad United won the second title in 2018
  • Quetta Gladiators won the title in 2019
  • Karachi Kings won the title in 2020
  • Multan Sultans won the title in 2021
  • Lahore Qalandars won the title in 2022

The first two legs of the tournament will be held in Karachi National Bank Cricket Arena and Multan Cricket Stadium from 13th February to 26 February. The action will move to Qaddafi Stadium and Pindi Cricket Stadium where the matches will commence from 26 February to 19th March.
