Xiaomi Is Launching Officially In Pakistan On 20th February

Good news Xiaomi fans! After facing hurdles Xiaomi finally got permission to officially launch its Mobile phones in Pakistan. As per report Xiaomi is officially launching in Pakistan on 20th Feb 2017. Xiaomi has got partnership with smartlink for its distribution and management of smartphones. The launch ceremony in association with Daraz and Smart Link has decided to be happen in Islamabad. The event will be attended by the Xiaomi officials from China too. This good news was announced by Xiaomi Pakistan for their fans on facebook,

“Finally, Day has come. We have got approval from PTA now we will soon launch our product line in Pakistan. Cheers Fans.”

Earlier when Xiaomi smartphones were sold through CheezMall, iit was claimed to be illegal by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority PTA. Moreover, PTA banned its sales all over Pakistan for not fulfilling all required legal formalities.

Then soon Xiaomi officials announced in a Public Notice that PTA has withdrawn the ban from its product. In that Public Notice, Xiaomi said:

“We would like to clarify that Xiaomi has not officially launched the sale of its smartphones in Pakistan. The ban proposed to be enforced by PTA is specifically targeting the unauthorized resellers who had been unofficially selling Xiaomi products in Pakistan, without complying with the necessary legal formalities”

Expected Products Line-up

After the launch of smart phones, eco products of Xiaomi will also be available all over Pakistan such as power banks, headsets, adopters etc. Xiaomi is launching initially four smart phones after getting approval from PTA: Xiaomi Mi Max, Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4.

Nokia 3310 is making a comeback in 2017

Suzuki Celerio Is Coming In March To Take Over Cultus

One of the leading brand and largest manufacturer of car in Pakistan, Suzuki is coming up with a launch of its new standard model of Celerio in Pakistan. Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company limited has decided to bring a drastic change in Pakistan Automobile Industry by replacing Cultus with Celerio. Celerio is being called in International market however here in Pakistan this car will be named as Cultus.

It is officially announced by Pak Suzuki to make Cultus exit and bring Celerio in market soon in March 2017. The Company said in a statement,

“We are confident that the government will provide some incentives to us under the new auto policy. Therefore the company has decided to launch its standard model of Celerio in March 2017”

Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers will be joining hands to make it successful as they announced for providing parts. It will be endeavour to achieve the quality with affordable prices as low as possible.

Celerio To Take Over Cultus

Pak Suzuki replaced earlier its Khyber with Cultus in year 2000 that made remarkable success. And now Celerio will now take the place of Cultus in this year. Celerio has 1000cc engine with price 1.124 million for the petrol and 1.199 million cost for CNG as mentioned on their company site.

The decision, however, is a complete denial of their own official announcement dispersed in October last year as they said no new model is going to be launched in next two years. But now again this news is circulating on social media.

Punjab Launches Free WiFi Hotspots In Three Cities

Now for the first time in Pakistan, Punjab has inaugurated Free public Wifi network hotspots in three cities of the province.

Almost 192 hotspots are launched by Punjab Information Technology board in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan. There are five additional hotspots launched at two-kilometre-long Murree Mall Road for internet coverage too.

Over 160,000 internet users for four hours a day would enjoy the free internet services. PITB is also considering introducing more stringent measures to curb the surfing of indecent content. PITB after launching hotspots at pre-decided locations now examining and testing the smooth internet network for users. It’s been considered by PTIB to make internet functioning fast and flawless.

According to PITB Director Information Technology Infrastructure Sajjad Ghani, the project would formally be launched in another two weeks’ time.

Ghani told that provincial government would spent around Rs165 million a year on this project. He said that the project was already operational for testing purposes.

In detail, 115 hotspots were launched at Lahore, 47 in Multan and 30 in Rawalpindi. Some of these hotspots were introduced at recreational facilities including Model Town Park and Jillani Park in Lahore. Also, Jinnah hospitals, Alhamra Arts Council, the airport, railway station, all metro stations and other popular spots would be having services.

Approximate 800 to 1500 users will be served by each hotspot, depending on the traffic at the location. Every hotspot would have four to five access points to provide 100 to 500 meters of internet coverage.

How To Access Free Wifi

He also said that there is a simple registration procedure for everyone to use the internet at any of these points. The information required will only include their name, date of birth, profession and mobile number.

Moreover, he said a registered user would be able to use the internet for two hours in a go on any day. He added that the user would only by providing his or her mobile number can get another two hours. He emphasized everyone would be permitted to use services of four hours a day. The director said they will increase time duration later if the need occurs.

Ghani continued that each hotspot has a screen display which reveals the total number of internet users that will help us know the load on each hotspot. He said that hotspot had 1 MB of connectivity and PTCL is providing its services in accomplishing this project. He highlighted the purpose of installing these internet hotspots is to make communication among people strong and keep them connected.
