Samsung might offer Satellite Communication Support in Upcoming Galaxy S23 Series

The countdown until the release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is just about to begin. Every day we get a new information and today we found something very fascinating. Samsung is looking forward to launching satellite communication support in their new flagship smartphone.

Samsung is all set to use the Iridium Communications 66 low-orbit communication satellites for this feature. This is a feature that was first introduced in Apple products and now it will be a part of Samsung’s next flagship line.

Satellite Communication Made Possible

According to the report leaked by a South Korean source, the mega brand is working with USA based Iridium Communications to make satellite connectivity possible for the Samsung Galaxy S23 possible. This would be a great new addition to the already brilliant series.

While not much has been revealed yet, it looks like Samsung is gearing up to release three devices in the S23 series. There are going to be minor hardware improvements from the S22 series that was released last year and that is saying something.

The smartphones in the series will most likely feature the latest and flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Other improvements include some camera upgrades and of course Satellite communication support.

Unlike the Apple Satellite support which only allows satellite communication in case of emergency, Samsung is hoping to offer features such as sending low-resolution images and text message communication. The technical side of the feature is covered so it looks like everything is simple and done for the new series to launch.

It is still unclear if the feature will be free like the Apple service or if Samsung would charge their users to use Satellites to send text messages and low resolution images. However, the Samsung Galaxy S23 is still months away from launch, we will get more information very soon.

Only time will confirm what the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will entail and what kind of performance gems it will reveal. Here is to hoping we will in for a treat this time.
