Locally Produced MG Car Is Finally Here

Pakistan’s first locally produced MG Car is finally here. This is a great news for Pakistani automotive industry. The good news was shared by Javed Afridi on his Twitter account with the rest of the country. This major development is a great achievement for Pakistan that was once run over by only Honda and Toyota cars.

The Midas shared two pictures from the production plant with the caption, “Alhamdulilah first locally produced MG car on the wheels now.”

The First Locally Produced MG Car

At the moment, MG Pakistan is only producing the CBU unites of its mega hit HS SUV. Although the pandemic has put breaks in the delay in delivery of these vehicle, the launch of a local assembly plant will make things easier for the brand to deliver their vehicles to their rightful owners.

While a price of these locally produced MG cars is not revealed as of now, it is expected that they will be a lot cheaper than the ones that were imported. The announcement of the MG assembly plant came last week.

The company made the announcement with the statement, “Construction of the first MG Motor’s assembly plant is in progress under the supervision of both Pakistani and Chinese experts. A great step forward, not only for us, but for the whole automotive industry in Pakistan.”

At the moment, MG is offering only ZS and HS SUVs, however, they have plans to bring in ZS EV in their lineup soon. moreover, Javed Afridi has also announced his plans for bringing Gloster, MG3 and MG5 to Pakistan as well. With the addition of a Pakistani plant, we can expect a new MG car that is assembled in Pakistan at a closer price.
