MG Ready to Launch 3 Locally Assembled Models Very Soon

After years of promotions and teasers, MG Pakistan is ready to launch three much-anticipated models in Pakistan. The good news arrived just today when Syed Asif Ahmed, the MG Motors General Manager spoke with an English newspaper and shared this vital information with the world.

While Javed Afridi has teased us with news, pictures, videos, and information about all the upcoming cars by the brand, he has yet to make an announcement regarding the release date of any of the vehicles that he shared via his Twitter page with his followers and fans.

All three vehicle models will be assembled right here in Pakistan, which is also a piece of great news for the local industry and the fans of the brand. Here is what Syed Asif Ahmed said during his interview about the vehicles and what you can expect from each of them.

Expected Locally Assembled Models

Syed Asif Ahmed said, “MG’s five-year plan consists of introducing three models.” The first vehicle expected is the most anticipated MG HS, the second is MG GT and the third is not announced yet. However, it is expected that the third vehicle would be the MG 3 which was heavily hinted at by Javed Afridi.

Here are the expected specifications of each of these vehicles.

MG HS Details

The MG HS is a 5-passenger crossover that directly competes with Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. It is the cheapest SUV in the market and features many luxurious amenities. Some of its highlighting features include:

  • 10 inch color touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Heated and Power Heated Seats
  • Blind Spot Detection
  • Reverse Parking Sensors
  • 360 degree View Camera
  • Panoramic Sunroof
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
  • 18 inch Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels
  • A 1.5 liter GDI Turbocharged Engine
  • Generates 250Nm of torque and 160 horsepower
  • 7 Speed transmission

The expected price of the vehicle is Rs. 5.5 million.

MG GT Details

MG GT

The MG GT is a luxury sedan that will give direct competition to Toyota Corolla and Honda City. When released, this sedan will be the cheapest luxury sedan in the Pakistani market. Some of its highlighting features include:

  • A 1.5 Liter Naturally Aspirated 4-cylinder engine
  • Generated 118 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque
  • Continuously Variable Transmission
  • Bi-function Projection Headlights
  • LED Taillights
  • LED Daytime Running Lights
  • 16 Inch Alloy Wheels
  • 6-way adjustable driver seat
  • 4-way adjustable front passenger seat
  • 10.1 inch Touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play
  • Cruise Control
  • Curve Brake Control
  • Traction Control System

The expected price of the MG GT is Rs. 4.3 million.

MG 3 Details

The MG 3 is a hatchback that will give direct competition to Suzuki Cultus and Wagon R. Once again, it will be the cheapest hatchback in the market when it is revealed. Some of its highlighting features include:

  • A 1.5 Liter Naturally Aspirated 4-cylinder engine
  • Generated 118 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque
  • 4 Speed automatic transmission
  • Cruise Control
  • 8″ touchscreen infotainment screen
  • Rear Parking Sensors
  • Six Airbags
  • Emergency Braking Assistance
  • Hill Hold Control
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TYPS)

The expected price of the MG 3 hatchback is expected to be around Rs. 2.5 million.
