New Windows 11 Update Brings Bing AI Chatbot to Taskbar

The new Windows 11 Update will be released very soon and it will bring some major surprises for the users. The AI race is going on hard and fast and it looks like Windows is gearing up to win it before Google can do something about it.

Although not many people like to use Bing for searching the internet to get their answers, Microsoft is still taking a risk and going forward with integrating their AI chat feature into the taskbars of all laptops and computers that will get the latest Windows 11 Update.

Here is everything you need to know about it.

Windows 11 Update Brings AI Chat to Desktop

Windows 11 update includes a significant release from Microsoft today, featuring the company’s AI-powered Bing search integrated into the taskbar. With this update, users will have easy access to the new Bing chat feature in addition to a host of other new features.

Enhancements to widgets, improved touch mode, a screen recording capability, tabs within Notepad, and other updates are also part of the new update.

Microsoft has included an unexpected integration of Bing in the latest Windows update, which was not previously tested with Windows Insiders. A Bing icon will now appear in the search box of the taskbar, and the new chat answers feature will be highlighted in the search flyout.

Although chat answers cannot be accessed directly in the search flyout, Windows 11 users can quickly initiate a Bing chat in Edge from this location, provided they have access to the Bing preview. Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing said:

“We’re reimagining what I think of as an increasingly AI-powered Windows for the future. This is a very important feature, today the search box is used by over half a billion people on a regular basis.”

The new update will not just feature the new Bing feature. It will also feature some new changes and updates as well. Additionally, Microsoft is providing a preview version of its Phone Link application for iOS, enabling iPhone users to link their devices to Windows.

This feature will enable users to send and receive messages, including iMessage, as well as make and receive calls and receive notifications. In addition, Microsoft is enhancing the widgets system in Windows 11 to include third-party alternatives from Meta and Spotify. Furthermore, the touch experience in Windows 11 is being improved with the addition of a new tablet-optimized taskbar. Disconnecting the keyboard from a device such as a Surface Pro will now condense the taskbar, making it more streamlined and tailored for touch input.

Finally, Windows 11 will feature an official screen recording tool. Although Xbox Game Pass previously offered the ability to record apps, the Snipping Tool now includes screen recording, enabling users to capture an entire screen or crop-specific areas for apps.

You can manually check for Windows 11 updates from the Windows Update on your system. However, Microsoft has announced that the new update will be rolled out in March 2023 as part of the security update release that is expected to arrive on March 14th.
