Downturn of Football: FIFA banned Pakistan Football Federation

The world football governing body, FIFA suspends Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) over the undue third party interference.

While explaining the reason behind the suspension of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) FIFA said in a statement, “The Bureau took this decision as a result of the fact that the PFF offices and its accounts remain in control of a court-appointed administrator, which constitutes a violation of the PFF obligations to manage its affairs independently and without influence from any third parties in accordance with the FIFA Statutes.”

It was added in the statement, “The suspension will be lifted once the PFF offices and access to the PFF accounts are returned to the PFF.”

Earlier in 2015, the high court of Pakistan has appointed Faisal Saleh Hayat as the president of Pakistan Football Federation. The decision of high court lead Pakistan to get out of the international events of football. The decision made has violated the rules and regulations of FIFA.

After all the scenario, Football federation of country will loose all of its membership rights which are defined in the FIFA statutes article 13. Additionally, the football team of country and club teams will no longer be able to take part in any international competition until and unless the ban is lifted from the federation.

As a consequence of ban, members of PFF will no longer get benefit from the development programmes or training courses that world football governing body or Asian Football Confederation (AFC) offers.

It is worth to mention here that according to the Article 16 Paragraph 3 of the FIFA Statutes, Pakistan Football Federation will no longer be able to get favor from any other member associations until ban is lifted.

Since 2015, Pakistan international football team has not played any match and is ranked as the lowest position of all the time i.e. 200.
