Pakistan has achieved notable development in the field of health and medicine from the past few decades.   • Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), Islamabad

This  research oriented health sciences institute  is one of the region’s leading tertiary level hospitals which includes 22 medical and surgical specialist centers. Located in Islamabad, Pakistan, this public hospital is a 592-bed hospital spread over 3.5 hectares, the 230 Bedded Children’s Hospital spread over 1.6 hectares specializing in pediatric care and the 125 bedded Maternal & Child Health Care Central which specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. Taking 7th position among the top 20 public and private hospitals in the country, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) has topped the list of public sector hospitals in Pakistan.

  • Jinnah Hospital Lahore

A second largest teaching hospital in the Pakistan is listed among the top 20 hospitals of Pakistan. Surprisingly, a public hospital with only basic specialties at first in 1996 has done remarkable development in 2005. Jinnah Hospital Lahore has added a new 100 bed Accident & Emergency Department in 2005 and the number of patients increased from 500,000 in 2003 to 700,000 in 2007. And all this is contributed to cooperative and caring staff and regular visit of doctors and nurses to provide accurate treatment on time.

A separate outpatient department of Mayo Hospital was constructed as a public hospital for government employees, and now renamed as Services Hospital, the hospital is providing quality treatment to patients in the emergency department for which staff is trained to deal emergency patients and disaster victims.

  • Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar

Perched out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan, Lady Reading Hospital is an icon in field of post graduate medical institutes of Pakistan. Named after Lady Reading, the wife of the Viceroy of India, Lord Reading, and the hospital was built during British Raj. And now this hospital runs at 70% of government and 30% self funding.
