It seems like 2020 is the year of big vehicles and Toyota expected to be one of those companies that are launching their new vehicles in Pakistan. Joining the big boys of the industry, the Toyota Corolla Cross 2020 is compact crossover SUV that picks up the Corolla moniker yet has its own massive personality.

The SUV was launched and unveiled in Thailand on 8th July, 2020 and since then the eyes of the world are on the SUV. As of yet, the SUV is up for sale in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Brunei. In some of these places, it is being called a Hybrid, which is a great news for people who want to save fuel and save money at the same time.

What You Should Know About Toyota Corolla Cross 2020?

The SUV has been added to their Corolla series and it is expected to reach the global car markets soon. The car is rumored to be launched in Pakistan in November, but the company has not made any official announcements yet.

The vehicle is based on the TNGA platform that now features a brand-new torsion-beam suspension to offer better stability and cushioned ride. Thanks to this suspension, the cabin is expected to be spacious and offer class-leading luggage space to the users.

The Corolla Cross is larger than the Toyota C-HR but shorter than the newly launched Kia Sportage. The exterior of the Toyota Corolla Cross 2020 looks a lot like the typical Toyota SUV but it has its own charm. The front of the SUV features a wider front grill that looks very much like the current Rav4 and same can be said about the rear of the vehicle. The projector headlights come with built-in slim Daytime Running Lights at the front. The slopping roof line, the plastic cladding on the wheel arches and black roof rails make it look sporty and very stylish.

The Toyota Corolla Cross 2020 looks very similar to the current generation Corolla sedan. The vehicle features the same floating infotainment system that we enjoyed so much in the sedan.

Along with that, we also have the similar digital cluster along with digital HVAC controls to give you a modern yet sophisticated dashboard. The SUV is capable of holding 5 people at once while offering them plenty of legroom and headroom to enjoy even in the back seat.

Engine and Performance

The Toyota Corolla Cross 2020 will come with two engine options. The standard engine is a 1.8-liter that is capable of producing 140 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque and will come with a CVT transmission as standard.

Another variant is a hybrid Cross. That variant will come with a 1.8-liter 2ZR-fXE engine that is capable of producing 98 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque. When combined with the traditional gasoline engine, the horsepower will increase to 121 horsepower and 163 Nm of torque. The vehicle will come with ECVT transmission for better control in the Hybrid variant.

Price and Release Date

No official relate date has been announced for the Toyota Corolla Cross 2020 in Pakistan. The company definitely has plans to launch their new SUV in the market, but nothing has been made official yet.
