In Pakistan a large no. of boys and girls are used Faiza Beauty Cream especially for fairness and beauty. These creams are not checked by the authorities and used across the country. Now Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) make a check and banned this cream in the country due to low quality and fake material. Many products have not been checked and due to the absence of proper checks and regulatory framework, low quality and fake cosmetic products make fool to the public. Especially fairness and beauty creams have flooded the markets in the country. PSQCA take a notice on this serious issue and found carcinogenic ingredients as analyzed by public sector and private sector labs in Pakistan. These ingredients are causing harmful effects to the user’s skin and health.

Faiza Beauty Cream is manufactured by M/s Poonia Brothers in Gujranwala since 2011. Now it has become one of the largest manufacturer of “Skin Whitening Cream” in Pakistan. According to report Faiza Beauty Cream contains mercury, hydroquinone and steroids in heavy weight. This cream is sold in all over Pakistan at wholesale, general stores and medical stores also. The PSQCA report found higher values of mercury in this cream. Now a notice has been issued to the company to stop its production and sale of the products.

Low Quality Fairness Cream

The demand of beauty creams and cosmetic products has been growing day by day without proper checks and regulatory framework. Therefore, low quality, fake cosmetic products, fairness and beauty creams have flooded the markets in the country. People only focus on the products results not on the ingredients that are used in products.

But now the higher authorities finally take a serious notice and working to ensure the quality of the products. As the low quality products can harm human health and it’s really a major issue. Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has issued notices to beauty cream and cosmetics manufacturers on serious health concerns. Many leading beauty products are not using the real and high quality material and Faiza Beauty Cream is one of them.

In PSQCA report, Faiza Beauty Cream has been found to contain carcinogenic ingredients that are the source of harmful effects to the user’s skin and health. This is analyzed by public sector and private sector labs in Pakistan.

Faiza Beauty Cream is manufactured by M/s Poonia Brothers in Gujranwala since 2011. Now it has become one of the largest manufacturer of “Skin Whitening Cream” in Pakistan. By the report of PSQCA Faiza Beauty Cream contains mercury, hydroquinone and steroids in higher values. This cream is sold all over the Pakistan at wholesale, general stores as well as medical stores. A large value of mercury has been found in open market surveillance by PSQCA in Lahore and Karachi.

Now PSQCA issued a notice to M/s Poonia Brothers on this matter. World Health Organization (WHO) has set the mercury value at 1 mg/kg and there is much higher value of mercury in Faiza Beauty Cream as 60 mg/Kg (60 ppm). Mercury-containing skin lightening products are dangerous for health and also have been banned in Pakistan.

M/s Poonia Brothers has invested a large amount on the advertisement for Faiza Beauty Cream.  But there should be a Public awareness about these products among the public for avoiding the health risks. Now the manufacturing of Faiza Beauty Cream has been banned in Pakistan as it is not healthy product for skin.
