PEMRA Bans Indian Content: Is That the Right Reaction to Indo-Pak War?

0

I have always firmly believed that in these big, ruthless wars between countries it’s the art, talent and rural community suffers. Although, it was high time for Pakistanis to give a right and tactical reply to the disregard showed by the Indian entertainment industry and show solidarity with the Pakistani army, but banning Indian content adds more fuel in the current political situation among India and Pakistan. I was highly disheartened to know about this, but it was totally expected from Pemra. Pemra, our country’s biggest bigot authority after government, which has a history in banning “so-called controversial airings,” may possibly never leave a chance to ban Indian content.131050-pakindiaflag-1369447296-701-640x480

As per as the law, it has banned entertainment Indian news and TV channels, FM radio stations and strict crackdown has been applied against cable operators who illegally airs or will air Indian content. But overall would you support this tit-for-tat move? As I stated earlier, the Indian entertainment industry showed the similar action against Pakistani artists and content. But trust me, the Indian as well as Pakistan youth is so-not-happy with the decision and is calling out the authorities of both the countries. I didn’t support this action either, and blames both India and Pakistan for this chaos. It’s actually the art that unites us, yet we are so eager to finish all the ways that connect us to our neighbors. I still have nothing against India, and will never have. We belong to the same land, which we can never deny or even try to fade.

That’s why it’s my urge to Pakistani as well as Indian entertainment industry, on the behalf of the Indian and Pakistani youth, to stop intensifying the chaos created by our dumb head politicians. You are the only hope that we have, the only medium that connects India and Pakistan to each other, even if PEMRA bans Indian content, I won’t stop watching Indian movies, because let’s just accept it – there is nothing as extraordinary as Bollywood. Bollywood is life, and will always remain to me.

Earlier this week, Huawei unveiled its flagship phone; Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche design. Soon after the release, rumors about a pro version of this phone surfaced and it looks like the rumors were true after all. Today in an exclusive launch event in China, Huawei Mate 9 pro was officially announced.

Huawei Mate 9 pro specifications:

Let’s take a glance over what this phone has to offer.mate9pro_1

  • 2.4 GHz Octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 960 processor with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU
  • 4GB / 6GB RAM
  • 64 GB/ 128 GB internal storage with microSD card support up to 256 GB

Huawei Mate 9 pro vs Huawei Mate 9:

Okay, so what’s changed? Well the most notable change in the two devices is the display technology. Huawei mate 9 has a Phab-let sized screen (5.9-inches) while the pro version is considerably smaller. It features a 5.5-inched screen with dual curved edges,  like the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge and the Note 7. Further more, the display technology has also been changed. Mate 9 pro features AMOLED Quad HD display unlike the Mate 9 which has an IPS LCD supporting only HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels).

Huawei has also changed the position of the Fingerprint scanner, and has moved it from the back to the front so some of the users might find it easy to use this feature now.

Apart from the above changes, Huawei Mate 9 pro shares the same specification as the Mate 9 but with a less expensive price tag, which is a good thing, right?

The Mate 9 pro is only available in China and the phone will retail at at 4699 yuan ($685) for the 4GB/64GB model and 5299 yuan ($775) for the 6GB/128GB model. The only problem is that, Huawei still hasn’t confirmed about this phones availability outside China just yet and it remains to be seen what will be the price of this phone when it comes to Pakistan. As far as we think, the phone might be priced around 70,000 Rupees for the 64GB model , and for the 128GB model 78,000 Rupees might be charged.
