Zong’s Sets up 4G Internet Lab For Street Children

Zong, has setup a state-of-the-art 4G internet lab for street children of the local community at Mashal Model School. Mashal Model School is a registered trust with the government of Pakistan that is providing education to marginalized children through community involvement in the Bari Imam area of Islamabad. The school has a current enrollment of over 860 children, majority of whom have never been to school before. Most of these children dwell in nearby slums and are also the bread earners for their families.

Zong partnered with Mashal Model School to set up a 4G Internet lab, with laptops and Zong 4G enabled Mi-Fi connectivity. For this activity, a room at the school, which was previously in a dilapidated state, was completely renovated and reconditioned by Zong’s “New Hope” volunteers, with the help of professional staff.

The “new-look” room was unveiled to a set of excited children at the school where Zong’s volunteers held learning sessions to exhibit internet usage to the students. Since it was the first interaction of most children with the virtual universe, it was received with a lot of awe, joy and curiosity.

It is to be noted that over the last few years, Zong has carried a socially responsible enterprise image and has shown a serious resolve in delivering on its social responsibilities. Under the banner of ‘A NEW HOPE’ Zong recently launched its Employee Volunteer Program that encourages employees to donate hours for volunteer activities. Under a detailed methodology, the program aims at greater social inclusion through aiding the welfare of the underprivileged segments of the society.

The setting up of 4G lab for street children is a stride in the direction of social inclusion and internet accessibility for all segments of the society. Efforts such as this serve as a catalyst in igniting a positive social change and impact the community by providing a renewed sense of hope.

Captain Cool, Tuk Tuk, Mr. Dependable and what not, Misbah ul Haq has been called everything. Seeing him so fit and able to perform so well at the age of 42 gives me chills. He will surely be missed when he retires, I just hope he doesn’t. Let’s take a look at why this old youth will make us cry after his retirement.

1. Leader 

When he was awarded captaincy Pakistan team wasn’t really a team, no cricket at home, controversies and everything, this guy went against all the odds and made Pakistan team one unit again.

Despite all the criticism, Misbah stuck to his ways and never responded to his critics aggressively, he answered them on the pitch, with his batting, fielding and captaincy he showed the world how to get results without bragging about them. Humble dude.

People didn’t really accept Misbah because of his defensive style and slow batting but deep down everyone knew even if the whole squad collapses Misbah won’t fall down that quickly.

Microsoft Announces its Plan to Launch Windows 3D

Microsoft has just announced its plans to make three dimensional virtually reality available for all. Sales of Microsoft computing business have declined since 2015, they have decided to jump back in with some cool new stuff.

With this, users will be able to model 3-D objects on their Windows phone and desktop computers. Microsoft will release a Windows 10 Creators Update, using that users will be able to enter a replica of original world and see how new things fit in.

As three dimensional virtual reality is more expressive, comprehensive and closer to reality, Microsoft aims to provide people with an environment that will help them see what they want to see.

General Manager of Microsoft, Megan Saunders, said, “We are going to be living in more of a multi-dimensional world, so we are just looking at how we can more quickly kind of jump-start and help people move in that direction“. It will also act as a preservation tool, you can create something in reality, take a picture of it, make it 3-D and store it in your device. Now even if you lose the original thing you created, you can always look at image you stored and cherish over memories. It is also one of Microsoft’s aims.

This will be pretty much a beginner level at first. All you got to do is download Paint 3D, of course after its release, take picture of anything you like, import it in paint and play with it. What they have done is, they have integrated 3-D community with Paint, there are already created objects, you can just put them on your picture, adjust them to your needs just like that and see them in 3-D.

Let’s wait till the update is released, we will find out how it will benefit Microsoft and its users effectively.
