Well, no one is here who don’t know the diva Priyanka Chopra, the former Miss World. She has done the bundle of hit movies not only in Bollywood but in Hollywood as well. She is not the one who should be discriminated in any manner. In her recent interview, Priyanka shared her experience in international film industry. She revealed that once she has been rejected for the Hollywood movie just because of the color of her skin.
On the question about her experience of working in Hollywood which she has already done in Baywatch she commented, “I was out for a movie, and somebody from the studio called one of my agents and said, ‘she has the wrong—what word did they use? — physicality’. She added more, “So in my defense as an actor, I’m like, ‘do I need to be skinnier? Do I need to get in shape? Do I need to have abs?’ Like, what does ‘wrong physicality’ mean? And then my agent broke it down for me. Like, ‘I think, they meant that they wanted someone who’s not brown.’ It affected me.”
She performed beautifully as a villain in Baywatch opposite Dwayne Johnson in 2017 which movie gone hit. Not only this but she has done the number of performances and appearance in different magazine covers and shows plus she also appeared in an American television show. Moreover, she also attended the big award functions like Oscars, Emmys and Golden Globes just because she is capable and famous.
She further shared her experience in the film industry, she said, “In America, we don’t talk about it as brashly, whereas in India the issue is not skirted around,” she said. “I’ve been told straight up if it’s a female role in a movie with big, male actors attached, your worth is not really considered as much.”
According to her, when she went out from the house she was shattered to know the brutal realities of the world, she shared, “I grew up in an environment where a woman led the household… He (my father) was man enough to say, ‘Listen, my wife does this way better than me.’ And nobody even questioned it. So when I came out into the big, bad world of entertainment, I was like, ‘Oh, well the world’s different from my house!” she said. As for her own finances, she stated, “I’m actually really careful with my money. I’ve earned it with a lot of hard work.”
Well, she is coming back now with Salman Khan in an upcoming movie Bharat which surely would be the great comeback of her.
