Textile Giant Nishat Chunian Ltd. Partially Suspended its Operations in Pakistan

In a completely shocking turn of events, Nishat Chunian Limited has announced it will be partially suspending its operations for at least January 2023. Pakistan is going through an economic crisis at the moment and it looks like things will be tough in the new year as well.

As a textile giant in Pakistan, the news of Nishat halting a few thousand of its spindles is a big blow to Pakistani exports and the jobs in the country as well. they released this information via a Pakistan Stock Exchange Filing in which they stated:

“The company has an installed capacity of 219,528 spindles and 2,880 rotors in its spinning division. Company has decided to temporarily close 51,360 spindles after one month due to market conditions.”

The remaining spindles and units will work as usual and the units shut down and will restart when the market condition becomes better. It should be noted that Nishat Chunian Limited is Pakistan’s largest textile company so its shutting down is very alarming.

Pakistani Industry Facing Heavy Loses

Nishat Chunian Limited is not the only company that had to temporarily shut its operations for the time being. It is yet another name in a series of bad news for the Pakistani industry. Previously, Indus Motor Company, Pak Suzuki Motor Company, Bolan Castings Limited, Baluchistan Wheels, and Millat Tractors Limited had to cut back on their production days since 16^th December.

Pakistan’s large-scale manufacturing declined by 7.75% in October. The overall automobile sales have decreased by 39 pc year on year. All Pakistan Textile Mills Association has already warned that Pakistan’s textile export may fall below $1 Billion in 2023 and more as the industry is operating at less than 50% capacity.

High prices of electricity and the current economic condition of the country are behind the current predicament of the biggest textile manufacturer in the country. However, it looks like Nishat Chunian Limited is hope to restarting full capacity very soon and with its full grandeur.

It is a guessing game at the moment and now it is a praying game.

Apple is under hot waters these days as their deadline for the Apple USB C charger is approaching fast and they have yet to make the necessary announcement. The pressure came on the mega-brand by the European Union as they want to cut back on electronic waste.

The iPhones need to have a USB C charging, rather than its iconic lightning cable so that Apple is more in sync with other smartphones all across the world. According to the new mandate law pushed by the EU, Apple has to incorporate USB C charging cables in their new smartphones by 28^th December 2024.

Here is everything you need to know about the decision to warn the brand and push for an Apple USB C charger change.

Apple USB C Charger Change Made Mandatory

According to the law passed by the EU, all 13 classes of electronic devices should have a common charger. With USB Type C being used by almost every smartphone brand except for Apple, the EU has made it the standard for all brands to follow.

This means all tablets, smartphones, headphones, handheld game consoles, digital cameras, headsets, e-readers, portable speakers, portable navigation systems, keywords, laptops, and mice will all need to have a type C charging port.

Deadline for Apple and All Brands

It should be noted that this rule is only being applied to the European countries as European Union is the governing body of these countries. The EU has set 28 December 2023 as the last date to impose this law and then given a year to the brands to make the change possible across the board.

By that time, all devices from every brand will need to have USB C charging and Apple USB C charger will finally happen. The only exception is for laptops. Laptop manufacturers will have until 28^th April 2026. The European Union can add more electronic devices to the list after 2025 and will refresh the list every 5 years.

Why Does Apple Feel Targeted?

Apple has been evading industry pressure for decades now. In order to maintain its brand image and exclusivity, they have been adamant to use only lightning cable for all of its devices. However, under the new EU rule, an Apple USB C charger is inevitable.

Apple is resisting the change as they argued the environmental gain of this change is just €13 million whereas the innovation worth €1.5 billion would be halted because of this decision. They are asking the EU to reconsider the decision but the EU has stuck to its guns in this initiative.

Now Apple has no other option but to comply which was confirmed by Greg Joswaik. The iPhone 15, which will be launched in the fall of 2023, will be the first of its devices to shift to USB C.

ZTE has announced Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro and Pro+, two of their most anticipated gaming smartphones. Known for their high performance and high resistance, the smartphones from this brand have always been a major hit in the gaming community and these two new phones would not be any different.

The best of the two smartphones is the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro, a complete beast with a 6000 mAh battery, 80W fast charging, and a lot more. The Pro+ will be a little smaller with a slightly smaller 5000 mAh battery, but it will feature 165W fast charging, which is an added benefit.

Here is what we know about the two smartphones and what you can expect from them.

Performance Specifications

Both smartphones carry the same features apart from the ones mentioned above. The overall design, the camera setup, the software, RAM, storage, and even the chipset is the same. The smartphones will come with Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset, which is the most powerful chipset at the moment.

A 16MP selfie camera has been added under the display, which means there will be no punch-hole display but a seamless, uninterrupted screen view.

The main camera is a triple affair with a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor lens. While this is a great camera setup, the camera setup does not overshine its gaming-specific specifications.

There are nine separate antennas around the body of the smartphone for better connectivity. The Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro and Pro+ will feature a USB C port for charging and a 3.5mm audio jack at the top. Thanks to the 6000 mAh battery, the Red Magic 8 Pro can be charged to 100% in just 35 minutes.

The Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro is available with three memory combinations. These are:
