After the announcement of a locally produced and assembled MG car in Pakistan, we now have a new price for MG HS. MG Pakistan has reopened the bookings for MG HS, their premium MG HS. While most people were expecting the price of the vehicle to decrease, the brand has actually increased the price of their MG HS SUV.

The company made a statement in which they announced that the price of the CBU units of their HS SUV has increased to Rs. 5,749,000. Previously, the SUV had a price of Rs. 5,449,000. The new price for MG HS is Rs. 300,000 and the booking price of the SUV is now set at Rs. 2,000,000.

The price hike was expected as the import duty hike was placed on all MG cars. This is the first time the prices have been increased for an MG vehicle in Pakistan and it is expected that the price for the vehicles by the brand will increase at least one more time by the end of this year.

This luxury SUV has a premium look and feel, something that most Pakistanis weren’t able to experience. Since the price of the vehicle is much cheaper than the staple SUVs in the country, it is expected that people are still going to love it even with the price hike.

Pakistan’s first locally produced MG Car is finally here. This is a great news for Pakistani automotive industry. The good news was shared by Javed Afridi on his Twitter account with the rest of the country. This major development is a great achievement for Pakistan that was once run over by only Honda and Toyota cars.

The Midas shared two pictures from the production plant with the caption, “Alhamdulilah first locally produced MG car on the wheels now.”

The First Locally Produced MG Car

At the moment, MG Pakistan is only producing the CBU unites of its mega hit HS SUV. Although the pandemic has put breaks in the delay in delivery of these vehicle, the launch of a local assembly plant will make things easier for the brand to deliver their vehicles to their rightful owners.

While a price of these locally produced MG cars is not revealed as of now, it is expected that they will be a lot cheaper than the ones that were imported. The announcement of the MG assembly plant came last week.

The company made the announcement with the statement, “Construction of the first MG Motor’s assembly plant is in progress under the supervision of both Pakistani and Chinese experts. A great step forward, not only for us, but for the whole automotive industry in Pakistan.”

At the moment, MG is offering only ZS and HS SUVs, however, they have plans to bring in ZS EV in their lineup soon. moreover, Javed Afridi has also announced his plans for bringing Gloster, MG3 and MG5 to Pakistan as well. With the addition of a Pakistani plant, we can expect a new MG car that is assembled in Pakistan at a closer price.

Pakistan’s PakVac COVID-19 Vaccine Cleared for Use

Pakistan has succeeded in developing and approving Pakistan’s first PakVac Vaccine for COVID-19. This amazing feat was achieved with the help of Cansino Bio from China. This news was shared with the rest of the world after the vaccine was tested rigorously for quality control and effectiveness in fighting the coronavirus.

The vaccine went through many tests and trials before it has been passed to be used to fight against COVID-19 in Pakistan. With the availability of PakVac, it will help the Pakistani health sector to minimize their dependance on vaccines from other countries.

This is a great breakthrough for the healthcare community and the professionals. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for National Health Services, Regulation & Coordination shared his congratulations and good news with the public via his twitter.

In his tweet, he said, “Congratulations to the NIH (National Institute of Health) Pak team and its leadership for successful fill/finish (from concentrate) of the Cansino vaccine with the help of Cansino Bio Inc. China.” He also mentioned that the availability of the Pakistani vaccine will help with increasing vaccine supply for Pakistanis.

An official from the Ministry of National Health Services shared that the National Health Services will be able to produce 3 million doses per month, which is a good number to start with. In the meantime, the National Health Services announced that China’s single dose vaccine called CanSino will be available for all citizens by the end of May.

The statement said, “The first batch of bulk CanSino vaccine is being processed at the National Institute of Health’s plant, which was set up for this purpose last month, and a specially trained team is working on it.”

The raw material for the PakVac will reach Pakistan by early May and the production of the vaccination will begin immediately. If all goes well, we may have the vaccine ready to put into the arms of citizens by June.

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Ehsaas Digital Saving Wallet Scheme for poor and underprivileged Pakistanis today. During the inauguration, Prime Minster also announced that the program appeared at the fourth spot in the World Bank list for offering integral services to the people of the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his address, Prime Minster Imran Khan said, “I praise Ehsaas Program for making it possible. Ehsaas Saving Wallets is particularly important because it will strengthen the banking system and bring more people into the net.”

The program was announced during an inaugural ceremony held in Islamabad for Ehsaas Digital Saving Wallet Scheme.
