PTA’s Claim, 3G/4G Users Have Reached To An All New Height

In November, the total number of smart phone users has increase up-to 164.027 Million. In October census, an increase of around 1.047 million users was notice, which mean the total number was 162.98 Million in one month. The 3G and 4G users were recorded to reach 74.33 million whereas the users recorded for October were 73.26 Million.

PTA show the user stats about the number of users that are registered to different mobile phone operators:

Zong

The Zong 3G subscribers had decreased from 7.751 to 7.633 Million users, recording a total decrease of 0.208 million users. But, the 4G users has increased from 14.221 Million to 14.702 Million. The census were recorded in the month of October and November.

Telenor

Between October and November, the users of 3G networks have reduced from 8.032 to 7.935 Million users. But, 4G users has increased from 8.052 million to 8.432 Million.

Jazz

The total number of users for 3G Jazz internet is 12.047 Million. For the month of October, the number of user recorded is 12.555 Million. Hence a total decrease of 0.208 Million users is seen for jazz operator.

Ufone

The number of users in October was 6.695 Million whereas in November the total number of users were recorded was 6.454 Million. Beside that, an increase in 4G users was recorded for instance, 2.430 Million users were using 4G Ufone internet service in October whereas almost 2.628 Million users used the service in November.

Complaints And Teledensity

PTA collect total 6,986 complaints from different users. The complaints were filed for telecom operators such as, Cellular phone operators, PTCL, WLL operators, ISPs and LDIs. Complaints of 26.35% were filed against the largest cellular operator, e.g. Telenor, Zong with a 1,047 or 17.50% complaint rate, and Ufone had 865 complaints.

In November, the teledensity of smart phones has expand up to 77% however the broadband users have reached 76.38 Million.

She also said that this program is the mixture of major initiative, the aim of this programme is to work for the welfare of elderly, overseas citizens, laborers , widows, farmers, students, residents of blighted area and more others for better lifestyle. She further said to eliminate illegal withdrawals and find theft the Ehsaas digital Mechanism will be noticed by a Bio metric system.

The app will provide help to all citizens living in all over Pakistan. Dr. Nishtar said that she will communicate with the affluent struck population will the help of app. The government of Pakistan is working hard to digitize Pakistan for future to maintained better check-and-balance. That’s why the by the app, multi-sectoral social welfare tasks are also going to occur.

Nishtar had revealed an increase in quarterly cash grant for 4.4 million beneficiaries in December 2019. The 0.82 million that do not deserve beneficiaries were then delisted, the increased stiffened will only be given to the deserving people. Shahzad Akbar, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability addressed a press conference with regard to the app and express that estimated Rs 192 billion to be spent on this program.

Brazil Sued Facebook For Yet Another Privacy Breach

Brazil imposed a fine on Facebook of $1.6 million for improper sharing of information, earlier this week. Brazil’s ministry of Consumer Protection department said, that data of 443,000 Facebook user had been shared with one of the apps called “thisisyourdigitallife”. The ministry claims that the data was shared for very questionable purposes.

In response to the email, Facebook stated they are going to re-evaluate its legal options regarding this case. Further the company said, we are concentrated on protecting privacy of users. We have also noticed some changes that restricted, the data which App developers can gain.

Brazil ministry had launched the investigation after the 2018 Cambridge Analytica news went viral regarding misuse of data. For now, Facebook has only 10 days to appeal for the decision and the fine shoulb be paid in thirty coming days.

According to report 2018, thisisyourdigitallife was construct by Cambridge Analytica. The reason behind developing the app was to collect users information and to select them for political advertisement.

Last month, Federal Trade Commission had passed a ruling in opposition to Cambridge Analytica. According to the agency Cambridge Analytica had breach the federal rule by confusing the Facebook users without taking their permission. Unluckily, Facebook was charged with $5 Billion for privacy breach.

Pakistani Engineer Designed A Device To Save Lives And Combat Against Smog

An engineer by profession, named Hasan Zaidi has designed an air purifier in order to fight against the poisonous weather conditions and combat against smog. Zaidi complete this device in six months to carefully build the air purifier at home.

Police Stations To Install Helper Button That Helps Citizens

Dr. Sohail Habib Tajik, regional police officer, said a crime app was being launching earlier this year, police stations were advised to install a helper button in the offices.

Citizens claim that when it comes to opting for a police response for any crime, they fail. In the police station, a helper button has been installed and if a citizen is unable to get any police response, the app will activate the helper button which forward a call to every senior police officers. The alert button is a method to receive feedback from the general public with regard to performance of the police. If the police failed to give a reply to the inquiry, an SOS message will be automatically generated when the button get complaints.

Sohail Habib said that the general public can submit any type of complaint without any fear. He also said that the police app and helper button is set to add comfort to the life of citizen. He said there were pending 3,000 FIRs and had been registered this month by the police officers.

RPO said, when the British established the police force in the subcontinent, our legal system has been formulated. As then things have changed, new actions were to be taken. He said that the save city project will take 3 years to become operational. And when it is in practice, the general public will get the best results from it.

He said 400 police officers serving at residences and offices of police officers have been called back. And posted to police station pointed at strengthening the police working. He said his best priority is to change the perception of public about police and obtain people’s confidence.
