Careem Announced a Fake Pizza Hut Discount!

Careem, the largest taxi-hailing service in Pakistan, just announced a discount at Pizza Hut while the management at Pizza hut wasn’t even aware of it. Sounds crazy? Well it is true and it just happened.

Just about yesterday, Careem updated a post on their official Facebook page, offering a 20% discount at Pizza Hut for all those who’d taken a ride within 48 hours of dining in at Pizza Hut. Careem even sent an Email to their consumers, offering them a 20% discount at Pizza Hut.

People literally became too excited but much to their dismay, a twist occurred in the story when Pizza Hut uploaded their Facebook status.

The official page of Pizza Hut Pakistan uploaded a post stating that they weren’t into any sort of collaboration with Careem Pakistan and there were no such discounts either.

Now let’s get things into perspective once again. Careem posted that they were into collaboration with Pizza Hut, offering a 20% discount to the consumers. Not to forget that this notification was officially issued by Careem. Later, Pizza Hut clarified in a post that they weren’t offering any discounts and weren’t into any collaboration with Careem either. Did Careem announce a dicount at Pizza Hut without even entering into an agreement with them?

So, what’s the ugly mess here? Was it a communication lapse or someone from the marketing department at Careem trolled the nation really hard?
Two multi-national organizations messing with their consumers in this way is literally disappointing. The worst part here is that some people actually went to Pizza Hut and were extremely discontented when they were refused any Careem-sponsored discount.

Careem Pakistan and Pizza Hut labeled all this mess as a mere technical communication lapse. The people brutally tolled Careem over this utter lack of professionalism.
