London Fashion Week 2017 began with its all glamour and charm in London. It took place from 17^th to 21^st Feburary. Six Pakistani designers showcased their collections at London Fashion week and got worthy praises from watchers. Each of the collections’ outfit was sensational that would simply trance its surrounding like a magic spell.

Maheen Khan, Munib Nawaz, Sonya Battla, Hamza Bokhari of Jeem, Zuriya Dor and The PinkTree Company were brought to London for the show, over the weekend, by the British Council Pakistan as part of the globally run Fashion DNA Project in collaboration with Fashion Scout and London Fashion Week.

The six Pakistani designers’ capsule collections got style by Rebekah Roy. The perspective behind it was to give an insight into the burgeoning fashion scene in Pakistan. The aim of showcasing contemporary design, culture and textiles was fruitfully gained.

Apart from taking Pakistani fashion to a global audience – showcasing contemporary design, culture and textiles – these designers will also go on to show the collections at the upcoming Fashion Pakistan Week 2017.

Maheen Khan came up with an inspirational aesthetic style of Khan’s truck art, ‘Gulabo’, the 2017 collection that was inspired by the hippy movement of the sixties and seventies and those traveling through the mountain trails of Pakistan.

Hamza Bukhari, designer of JEEM displayed synonymous with traditional artisan techniques, which are usually complemented by unique silhouettes, colors and detailing.

Muneed Nawaz achieved the theme showcasing titled Sci-piritual, the homage to Rilli work, leather, and the sartorial-casual side of menswear designs at the LFW showcase, managed to be creative and stylish. All of above the fabrications, and processes, seems that products are handmade slub cotton tailored into a bomber jacket and a hand-embroidered leather biker jacket left people stunned.

Mohsin Sayeed’s The PinkTree Company is home to a definitive lifestyle showcased a collection titled Jahan. His collection includes emerald greens, peacock blues, and sun-kissed oranges, silks and hand woven organza, which creates the perfect combination between these and delicate digital hand painted prints.His inspiration behind this collection was literature, hand-written calligraphy.

Pakistani Bold designer, Sonya Batla displayed the collection titled WEAVE – Indigo Infusion created color perfection, keeping it innovating and experimental. Ethnic embroideries feature as details in the design whilst silhouettes kept modern and free. She showed inspiration of the Sufi shrines of Pakistan.

The new name in fashion industry,Zuria Dor – which is co-founded by two young female Pakistanis with backgrounds in product design engineering and aerospace engineering worked with their Tropical Tranquil Colors of nature inspiration.
