New Color to Wear this Fall Wedding

0

2016 has been the year of muted and subtle colors like beige, blues, black, baby pinks, lemon or white. Whether it comes to Eastern or Western wear, I have always preferred to wear muted over vibrant or neon colors. They don’t just look elegant on every age or gender, but they also make your outfit ten times more sophisticated. I don’t know, I guess it’s just the power of colors.

As the wedding season begins in December, I urge all the bride-to-be’s to try wearing beige wedding dress than red. Although, red is the traditional color and looks beautiful, but trust me, beige looks mystic, and ultimately increases the chances of using the wedding dress for some future parties or weddings. After observing a multiple fashion trends launched by brands these days, I found out that designers have used more muted colors in their clothing as compared to vibrant or loud colors. Here are some of the colors I suggest you to wear this upcoming fall.

1. Nudes & Beige:

Any shade of nude color staple, whether the beige, cream, brown or everything in between looks sophisticated on any kind of outfit. Recently, high-end fashion brands like Elan, Mahgul, RemaShehrbano are preferring to use more shades of nudes than loud colors.

2. Dark Grey:

This color is like not the perfect grey, but somewhat grey with shades of blue, and this is why it lies somewhere in the between. The color is pretty muted and compliments every skin tone present in Pakistan. Due to its subtle nature, it is a perfect color to wear in the fall. Sweaters, cardigans, sweatshirt or scarves will look stunning in the color.

3. Cobalt Blue:

This color is being a lot used nowadays in the western wear, and is probably made to enhance the perfect whitish skin of Pakistan.

4. Monochrome:

This combination of black and white never goes out of fashion, and especially compliments the air of fall really well. If you haven’t worn this exquisite combo this year, then do try out in fall.

Netflix Now Let’s You Download Your Favourite Shows For ‘Offline Viewing’

0

Today is a big day for movie lovers as Netflix – world’s largest movie streaming service has finally announced to add ‘offline playback’ option to its service.

The latest update is currently being rolled out to iOS and Android users only. However, there is no word if desktop users will be able to enjoy this feature.

According to Netflix,

“many favorite streaming series and movies are already available for download, with more on the way.”

netflix

Not all the content is available to download, however, there is a pretty rich catalouge to choose from. All of the Netflix’s first party shows and movies are available to download, plus there are some third-party content too. Moreover, Netflix has promised to expand it further.

Content that supports downloading will show a download button in the description of the movie or next to the episode title of the TV show.

You can also adjust quality of the content to ‘Standard’ or ‘Higher’. Sadly, however, the ‘Standard’ and ‘Higher’ quality options don’t say much about resolution and bitrate.

Further, you can also choose to enable ‘downloads only on Wi-Fi’. There is also a My Downloads section in the sidebar where you can find all your downloaded content. Moreover, you can also delete and check the amount of storage taken by the downloaded content.

If you don’t see the option yet, make sure your app is updated.

Future of ePharmacy in Pakistan

0

You might not know about this but Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry ranks in top 10 markets in Asia and is valued at around $4 billion. Now you all know how internet has made life easier. Everyone knows how newspapers worked before, you had to wait for next day to get news printed if you missed your chance today, now with social media and TV you are up to date all the time. ePharmacy will be the next big thing in the years to come.

Similarly some time ago people had to wait in lines at stores to buy things during rush hours. Now you can just sit in your, open your computer, search for product you want and place an order and the product will be on your doorstep within no time.
While buying clothing and stuff online is famous here in Pakistan e-pharmacy has also caught an eye of many people. A website called (SEHAT) is doing really good in this field. Apothecare (Pvt.) Ltd.’s, parent company, mission is “to provide quality healthcare products in a convenient manner to the consumer by bringing the products to the consumer’s doorstep”.wp-1480528020126.jpg

You can search for the medicines you want on their website and place an order, and you will get your product on your doorstep within a very small period of time, no need to wait in lines at medical stores anymore, lucky me.

The future seems bright for online pharmacy in Pakistan as the industry is already valued at around 4 billion dollars, with the online ordering facility included it can grow exponentially as there is a quotation by someone that goes somewhat like this “your business isn’t really business if it isn’t online”. With providing this facility they also have to make sure that people don’t get in to drug abuse, some websites require the scanned copies of prescriptions for placing an order, let’s see what happens in future.

0

Facebook has been upping its ante through different ways. In 2011, Facebook introduced an independent instant messaging app dubbed as ‘Messenger’. Since then, Facebook has added numerous number of features to make it competetive with its arch-rival ‘Whatsapp’. Pakistan’s First ‘Cyber Harassment Helpline For Women’ Launched By DRF

0

Digital Right Foundation (DRF) has announced to launch Pakistan’s first cyber harassment helpline. The decision was made official on Monday, at ‘Hamara Internet- Ending Online Violence Against Women’ conference, held in Islamabad.

The service is designed to help and provide digital security and legal counselling. Further, DRF is also aiming to provide psychological counselling to the victims. The service will go live on December 1, 2016.

The founder of DRF, Nighat Dad explained that there could be different aspects of harassment, and it is not limited to physique only. She desrcibed harassment as the state where you feel uncomfortable.

“The same applies for the internet if someone is stalking you, sending unsolicited messages of comments on posts – this can convert into violence, threats or blackmail,” Nighat said.

How To Register Your Complain

If you’re a victim of online harassment or violence, dial 0800-39393 to register your complain.

As per DRF, complainant’s privacy is their top priority and they aim to provide ‘free, safe and confidential’ environment to the complainant.

“We will not be recording any calls and storing any data in order to safeguard the complainant’s right to privacy” – said Shmyla Khan, the DRF lawyer.

Online Harassment In Pakistan

Online harassment and violence is an overgrowing issue, which, due to lack of recognition and attention has become a major issue faced by thousands of women everyday.

“After the harassment law was passed the issue was recognised but how to deal with it and how it worked was not sorted. Only those sensitive to the issue can do it”.

Keeping this in this mind, DRF started this campaign and put their efforts to raise awareness among women.

“We started our campaign a year ago and the objective was to address online harassment, we went into colleges and universities across the country and spoke to students about online harassment and what to do if they were stuck in such a situation, what preventive measures they could take, online safety and privacy and settings on social media; and how to file a report,” said Nighat Dad.

In our society, discussing with parents and family regarding sexual harassment and unsolicited matters are considered as taboo, and most of the girls fear to speak about it with their family.

“When the girls learnt about these things we started getting so many calls and messages – they realised that if they couldn’t talk to family or friends about this sort of harassment they could come to us,” she said.

While praising the campaign, Anis Haroon, an activist and member of the National Commission on Human Rights said: “It’s a good facility for women because this is a group of women who are willing to support victims of harassment and they have the understanding of the issue because it is a very sensitive issues.”

Black Friday Post Analysis – Public Opinion

0

In 2016, first ever whopping “Black” or “White” Friday sale hit the roads and internet of Pakistan this week for which thousands of promos and advertisements attracted public attention online and on social media for more than a week before.

The sale included all the products ranging from home appliances to mobile phones, clothes and jewelry promising customers a never-before shopping experience however, general public wasn’t really happy at the end of the day and the turn-out of the sale didn’t fulfill the expectations. Majority of the people weren’t really satisfied with discounts and people were quite furious over “deceitful promotional on social media”, “re-marked price tags” and especially not to mention “out-of-stock products”.Daraz projected the traffic load on website earlier yet failed to dimension the website properly since the traffic rose exponentially and customers had to face page loading error, unavailable products flashing on the screen, issues with product orders and payments etc. It’s not only with Daraz but same issue was faced with other shopping websites like Yayvo, Homeshopping and Symbios due to unexpected traffic rise and poor dimensioning. A lot of offers were also halted since the products ran out of stock. For example, Huawei Mate S Black Friday sale price was 30,000 PKR instead of original price 50,000 PKR and they mobiles went out of the stock early morning Friday on Daraz and Metro stores.

Coming to the stores and other clothing brands, there was a clear dishonest in sale publicity and majority of the sale was on summer stock. Other than that, once again, the price tags were re-labelled and then discounted. People gave quite irate reviews and comments on social media pages to express their anger. Majority of the stock at clothing brands was sold out during the first half of Friday and people weren’t able to find good stuff during the evening.

After witnessing keen interest of consumers, it goes undoubted that e-shopping has already strengthened their roots and have gains customers trust but customer shopping experience should be top priority. Brands should dimension demands properly and definitely avoid dishonest publicity.
