Coke Studio Season 14 started off with a bang with the release of their opening song “Tu Jhoom.” Sung by the maestros Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal, the song is already very much loved by the audience and now the world is looking forward to the next singles from the new season.

The new season was launched with a season reveal video. While usually the season is launched with the first episode or with a song with a lot of fanfare, this time, Coke Studio has taken a soulful turn with two of the biggest names in the industry.

Tu Jhoom – An Ode to the Maker

Joining Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal, Tu Jhoom is a soulful, hypnotic song that carries nostalgic strains that spellbind the listeners. Producer for this season is Zulfiqar Khan a.k.a. Xulfi had high expectations coming into the season and it looks like he has exceeded those expectations even before the Coke Studio Season 14 has properly launched.

Celebrities like Ahmet Ali Butt, Bilal Qureshi and Mahira Khan are already singing praises and the whole country is in a trance with the masterful performance of both Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal. In fact, producer Xulfi said, “I always like to bring an element of surprise expected things have short lives,” which rings true for the new song.

Associate music producer Abdullah Siddiqui, the new rising star of Pakistan’s music industry said that the track is “a perfect blend of traditional sounds – quintessentially desi but in an updated, almost postmodern way.”

Abida Parveen said, “Xulfi has made a unique song that epitomizes the Sufi transitional rhythms. I had heard a song that he had worked with Naseebo ji on and told him to work more with her and now we have come together to bring this combined effort.”

Naseebo Lal said, “I am coming back to Coke Studio for the second time, in a very different style. Abida Ji is an asset not just for Pakistan but the entire world. I am a huge fan of hers and it is an honour to be performing with her.”

With the launch of the first single, it is expected that we will get a steady stream of new singles every week. The next song from the Coke Studio Season 14 will be released on 21st January, 2022. And now, the audience is waited with bated breaths to see who will be the next artists to sing the next songs!
